One gift. Two Arsham originals.
A signed copy of Daniel Arsham’s FUTURE RELIC and his hand-drawn Abecedarium poster, together in one gift. Limited quantities, while supplies last.
The book. Future Relic is Daniel’s honest account of how he built a life as an artist, including the failures, the detours, and the hard-won lessons in between. Readers describe it as a conversation with a mentor.
The Abecedarium. Every chapter of Future Relic opens with a letter Daniel drew by hand, each one different, placed like markers along the path. The Abecedarium brings them together in a single piece, the map of the book, drawn by the artist himself.
Why readers love it:
Real direction, not a pep talk. Daniel skips the romance of the creative life and explains how it actually works: getting a gallery, why you need a great lawyer, how to run a creative business, and how to come back from rejection.
A mentor in your corner. For years, Daniel has saved the advice his own mentor gave him. In Future Relic he shares it and reveals who that mentor is.
Permission to trust your instincts. Whether you paint, design, write, or build a business, the book shows there’s no single correct path, only the one you keep showing up for.
Something to reach for when it gets hard. Daniel is candid about failure. The core lesson is to keep going.
“There is no getting around the business of art, according to Arsham, so you might as well master it… Wise up, reader.” (The New York Times)
About the book
Inspiration is for amateurs. I’m a professional artist: I wake up every day and go to work.
Daniel Arsham’s path runs from a Miami childhood shaped by Hurricane Andrew, to Cooper Union, to becoming the youngest artist ever to work with Merce Cunningham, and on to collaborations with Pharrell, Dior, and the Cleveland Cavaliers. In Future Relic he shares the failures, disasters, and detours that built his career, and what anyone pursuing creative work can take from them.
