The Freeman Institute works to improve a diverse array of issues across the globe, including organizational behavior, racism, cultural understanding, and global health issues. The clearest need at this moment is support for The Village Drill, a radical attempt to solve the world's clean water problems. One in six people in the world lack safe drinking water. Water-related illnesses are the leading cause of human sickness and death. 1.1 billion people in the world do not have safe drinking water available to them. 80% of diseases in the developing world are caused by contaminated water. 2.2 million people in developing countries, most of them children, die every year from diseases associated with lack of access to safe drinking water.
